There was a strong smell of cleaning products when we arrived. It took a while for the smell to dissipate. The hot water heater was noisy. Other than that, everything was great. I enjoyed sitting on the back porch.

Marcia & Larry - Florida - November 2025 Mod Suite at the Mary Scott House is cute and well suited for a couple. It's clean, cozy & has everything you need except a comfortable bed, unfortunately it needs a mattress. The location couldn't be any more convenient, it was perfect. We were able to walk everyplace and I'm pretty sure we covered every inch of historic Charleston. Parking is a plus!! The only time we did use our car during our visit, we found parking to be a problem and we visited in the off season for the area. We did take the short drive to Sullivan's Island and Fort Moultrie and recommend making the trip, so much Revolutionary and Civil War history. The Old South Carriage Tours are great, we did two of them. We also did a ghost tour and a historic walking tour, recommend both. Overall, even with a pretty lumpy mattress, I would stay again and will recommend Mod Suite to friends. I fell in love with that little place and Charleston.
